WHAT A 1930'S DUESENBURG CAR DEALERSHIP SHOWROOM MIGHT HAVE LOOKED LIKE

WHAT A 1930'S DUESENBURG CAR DEALERSHIP SHOWROOM MIGHT HAVE LOOKED LIKE.

SOME PEOPLE WAIT A LIFETIME TO FIND A GREAT CAR, SOME FIND IT WHEN THEY ARE A TEEN, AND WAIT A LIFETIME TO WON IT. MARK WAS A FORTUNATE RARITY, HE GOT BOTH THE CAR HE DESIRED 30ISH YEARS AGO, AND IT'S A BARNFIND 1969 GT 500 SHELBY MUSTANG

Mark's neighbor was an attorney that owned 3 Shelby Stangs, acquiring each as payment on cases, and this was the one he drove the most and damaged in the early 80's, and then parked it in the warehouse over his office.

Bumpers need extra protection in some cases nowadays, due to things like expensive back up sensors and fewer insured motorists along the Mexico border

Here in San Diego, being in a collision caused by an insured car owner is known as winning the lotto. That's how rare it is to have the other person be insured, and not a hit and run that will never be found by the cops

I learned about it, and got the above photo from Autowriters.com monthly newsletter this photo taken in front of the Castle of Carovigno (Castelo Dentice di Frasso) in the province of Brindisi, in the region of Puglia, Italy
Jeff Mohr is happy to pass along this photo from over seas for his Superbumper: "We have lots of employees getting rear ended on a regular basis. I am putting them on all our office vehicles. The 4 model on my personal vehicle has been bumped numerous times with no damage (to my vehicle at least)," Thad Osterhout, American Embassy, Dakar, Senegal, Africa.

there is an email going around with photos of wrecked 1920's and 30's cars, here are the more impressive photos

above is a late 1910's Dodge I think... there was a name for the style... but I can't remember it
worlds strongest front tire and steering parts!

above, a kid went joyriding and trashed the car in an accident
above and below are Mack trucks, in the first version of the company symbol

If the photos make you glad you have power steering, power brakes, airbags, and saftey glass windshield... than you echo my sentiment

All the photos were taken by a Boston news photographer, and are now in the Boston Library
