WHAT A 1930'S DUESENBURG CAR DEALERSHIP SHOWROOM MIGHT HAVE LOOKED LIKE

WHAT A 1930'S DUESENBURG CAR DEALERSHIP SHOWROOM MIGHT HAVE LOOKED LIKE.

SOME PEOPLE WAIT A LIFETIME TO FIND A GREAT CAR, SOME FIND IT WHEN THEY ARE A TEEN, AND WAIT A LIFETIME TO WON IT. MARK WAS A FORTUNATE RARITY, HE GOT BOTH THE CAR HE DESIRED 30ISH YEARS AGO, AND IT'S A BARNFIND 1969 GT 500 SHELBY MUSTANG

Mark's neighbor was an attorney that owned 3 Shelby Stangs, acquiring each as payment on cases, and this was the one he drove the most and damaged in the early 80's, and then parked it in the warehouse over his office.

Grigory Bars ... "By Jove, I think he's got it!" Damn right he does, I foretell you'll be hearing and seeing his name in the future, doing amazing things. The next Tron? The next Hollywood blockbuster? Probably!

I like the bottom one a bit better, the headlights look like Woodlites

the only Aston Martin to win Le Mans, and Carroll Shelby co drove with Roy Salvadori to further enhance it's selling points, a '57 DBR1

if this car fetches the requested price of 31.7 million, it will be in the 3rd position of highest priced cars in the world, the 1 and 2 positions are held by a 63 and a 62 Ferrari GTO

Stirling Moss drove it to the 1959 World Sports Car Championship

unusual '56 Aston Martin DB35

1984 Aston Martin Lagonda

I doubt I've posted one before, and it's an interesting design, though I'm not a fan. Sure has that 80's vibe though, especially the interior

Cruise for kids, fundraiser for the San Dieguito Boys and Girls clubs.. I learned about it too late to photograph it this year

Not many happy reasons get a bridge shut down... but this one did. A lot of sports and exotic cars put together a fundraiser event to raise funds for the kids... very cool. Nino Venturella of Wells Fargo wealth management recruited from his clients with exquisite cars those that wanted to join in the cause to help out the kids... and started at the historic Hotel Del Coronado and had a police escort along the route to cut down on the stop lights breaking up the parade (maybe even to keep leadfoots in check.. there were at least 2 Bugatti Veyron, and lots of Porsche, Vipers, Vettes, Lambos, Ferrari, Astons, and Rolls Royce)
At the Del Mar track there was a car show (from what I read in a magazine article) and then a party at an airport hanger.

From the Hotel Coronado to the racetrack grounds of Del Mar, with a good look at the landscape and freeways that show off San Diego's natural good looks

Info, video, and images from http://www.c4ksd.com where there are many more galleries of the event at the various locations they stopped

Comic Con from the vehicle perspective (Batmobiles in following posts)

looks like the architecture was made for a bunch of sci fi - fantasy fans
The best way to prove a Prius is green... use it as a planter.

Why is it like this? It's a prop for a tv show that opens this fall, Revolution. It's about the way America would deal with a planet wide loss of electricity in all applications. Nothing electrical has any function. Very cool show, I saw the first episode on preview night

In the gaslamp, you can get pedi cabs that are set up for comic con related things.

Now this movie prop with a Bugatti tag on the nose is for a movie by the guy who made "District 9" and the trailer looks like it's going to be a really cool movie. Matt Damon and Jodie Foster star in it, and its Matt's character trying to get off Earth to the huge ringworld spacestation (Ringworld by Niven) to get medical treatment to save his life... because all the best of everything got off the planet, and moved to the station.

One Bond car a day was displayed in this booth, and this Aston Martin from "The Living Daylights" is entirely fiberglass, even the tires

The Total Recall vehicle, wow. It's been named the year 2087 Chrysler 3000. What last years display had http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/08/movie-car-that-will-be-in-new-version.html was a police model, in Dodge name plate, and this one here is Chrysler. I think that is because Dodge had a Police car fleet scenario in place. Chrysler doesn't.
