SOME PEOPLE WAIT A LIFETIME TO FIND A GREAT CAR, SOME FIND IT WHEN THEY ARE A TEEN, AND WAIT A LIFETIME TO WON IT. MARK WAS A FORTUNATE RARITY, HE GOT BOTH THE CAR HE DESIRED 30ISH YEARS AGO, AND IT'S A BARNFIND 1969 GT 500 SHELBY MUSTANG
Mark's neighbor was an attorney that owned 3 Shelby Stangs, acquiring each as payment on cases, and this was the one he drove the most and damaged in the early 80's, and then parked it in the warehouse over his office.

it's been 57 years since the Packard plant in Detroit closed, it's been falling apart just longer than it operated. Why is it still sort of standing? All 37 acres of rubble? A good article to read at WardsAuto.com

People may debate about which Roman ruin is the greatest. Some say it�s the Coliseum. Others vote for the Forum or the Baths of Caracalla. They�re all amazing.
By consensus, the mother of Motor City ruins is the Packard plant.
It doesn�t amaze, it dismays as a titanic industrial wreck: 35 acres of decay near the city center.

Margaret Dunning, the 102yr old with the Packard, (you know, the one that's been emailed around for the past year) went to Pebble Beach this year! Hagerty did a great article about her 1st PB experience
Briefly, she's been driving since age 8, and she's had her 1930 Packard since 1949.
A lot of people talked to her at the event, and some famous ones... Leno, Henry Ford III and Edsel Ford II, and that must have been a big thrill for all of them. Her neighbor was Henry Ford... way way back when.

coachbuilt Packards at the Dana Point Concours de Elegance
I've never noticed anything like that before. Also unusual is the radio, it's the middle gauge. I don't recall ever seeing a radio that fits into the look of the other gauges so well.
