Mark's neighbor was an attorney that owned 3 Shelby Stangs, acquiring each as payment on cases, and this was the one he drove the most and damaged in the early 80's, and then parked it in the warehouse over his office. Once it went into the freight elevators and into that warehouse it was off the radar... til the attorney finally mentioned selling it to the single person that could reunite it with the once teenage neighbor kid

The original 428 was blown early, and replaced with a 390, but the sale went through at 25 thousand to Mark, because he'd known the seller since the 80's and the seller knew it was going to a good home finally

Did you like the posts about collections in barnfinds, the collections of cars that were found to have been neglected for decades? Well, here is another. In Belgium, and it's all Alfa Romeos

First it was the Sleeping Beauty collection of the Schlumpf bothers, then the welded shut collection of the variety of cars bought up by a collector when they were cheap, in Portugal. Now, this group of cars in a Belgian Castle. Cool world we live in, and interesting finds are still happening.

A family stored a custom LeBaron lwb sedan '32 Stutz for 73 years, because WW2 limited supplies of tires meant the owner had to store it, and drive his Nash for commuting. So it got stored away, and never hit the road again, only 23,000 miles

A MG owner told his Magnette specialist friend about this car, so off to inspect a car,  pre-purchase, and this California rust free example was pulled from the garage.

Millicent is the original owner, and finally decided to part with her Magnette (MG with 4 doors)

My first impression was how absolutely complete and unmolested the car was. Little �Magnette� details like the clock were still there, the very special rear view mirror, the beautiful MG-octagoned intake manifold, all the wood trim was intact. But, I was there to look for rust. I looked, and I looked. Just like the A�s most of us are familiar with, there are just places where you absolutely know there is rust on a Magnette�stills, bottom of doors, bottom of spare tire �well�, boot floor, wheel wells, �dog leg� areas by all fenders, lower sections of fenders, etc. I checked �em all. Totally rust free. I couldn�t believe it! The bottom of the car is clean�not really even surface rust.

the Magnette is a rare beast, and going to a new good home of MG lovers. I was hoping that the article would say how long the car had been off the road, but it doens't. Just that the engine was removed, and the car was on blocks

A Shelby Cobra Dragonsnake has been pulled out of the barn, probably the last forgotten Cobra Dragonsnake we'll hear of

The last factory built Dragonsnake to be a barn find, spent the last 30 years in a garage in Anaheim. It was raced at Monterey in 1974, then stored away... and the owner just left it alone.

It's one of 2 factory built with the 325 hp Stage III d Competition 289's. Only 6 DragonSnakes were built

Take for example, the case of film director Agostino �Dino� De Laurentiis� Ferrari 250 GTE which was just expertly sold by Bonhams at its Monaco auction held just last month. This was at one time a beautiful automobile, resplendant in metallic silver paint over red leather, with a screaming 3.0-liter Ferrari V-12 up front and gleaming Borrani wire wheels on its suspension. The car has been sitting for decades, but appeared very complete and whole, which adds considerable to its value and appeal.

 Bonhams sold the car for about $163,000, and it will take every penny of $100,000 to restore it properly and make it once again the beautiful automobile it deserves to be. When completed, it�ll probably be worth about that same $100,000, perhaps a little more, placing, for the moment, no value on its celbrity ownership. Hmmmm�.unless I were the late director�s close relative, I�m not sure having his $100,000 car would be worth $263,000 to me.

where in contrast, this pile of cars was deliberately piled on the shore of Lake Michigan to create a erosion control dam/levy. Hard to comprehend that polluting the lake wasn't obvious by leaving old cars to leak oil, grease, rust, lead, solder, etc etc into the lake waters. I bet that junkyard cars were the cheapest solution a contractor could find, and the cheapest contract bid gets the job. I have photos of junkyard cars used to create a river shoreline somewhere in the archives
